Sound Design

Source Audio’s engineering team took great care in crafting Ventris’ comprehensive collection of authentic, three-dimensional reverb effects. The central selector knob offers a wide range of tones, from iconic spring and plate reverbs to studio rack gear, natural acoustic spaces, and forward-looking “unnatural” effects.

  • Room

Captures the ambient reverberations of a real acoustic space, from a warm and intimate household room to a larger theatre sized space.

  • Hall L

Patterned after the lush sounds of studio rack units from the 80s, the Hall L engine is distinguished by its highly diffuse tones and blooming characteristic.

  • E-Dome

The cavernous E-DOME produces long reverb trails with a lovely smooth and lush modulation. Invoke the sound of massive arena settings!

  • True Spring

An exceptionally realistic effect with the unmistakable “drip” heard in vintage spring reverb equipped amplifiers, by Source Audio’s Scientist, Bob Chidlaw.

  • Plate

A meticulously crafted simulation of vintage plate reverb units for the 50s and 60. It replicates the beautiful audio blasting into the face of a metal sheet.

  • Lo-Fi

Turns the lush and grandiose effect of reverb on its head and embraces destructive elements like distortion, oversaturation, and pitch fluctuation.

  • Modverb

This modulating effect revisits the earthy combination of tremolo and spring reverb found in many vintage guitar amplifiers.

  • Shimmer

This pitch shifting reverb engine mixes traditional room sounds with octave-up reflections for an angelic reverb effect.

  • Echoverb

For those in need of simultaneous reverb and delay effects, the Echoverb engine provides a sprawling echo effect with huge, ambient repeats.

  • Swell

Applies a volume swell effect to your instrument’s dry signal, which is then fed into the reverb effect for amorphous clouds of sound.

  • Offspring

Nothing else sounds like the Offspring reverb. This dramatic effect falls between the sound of an angel’s harp and a retro-futuristic sci-fi soundtrack.

  • Reverse

Create chilling and dramatic backwards effects with this haunting reverb engine. Mix it with the dry signal for an unnerving shadow effect.

  • Outboard Spring

Outboard Spring was inspired by the sound of intensely crafted outboard spring tanks. It’s a sound sought after by surf rock guitarists from coast to coast.

  • Metal Box

MetalBox captures the reverberations of a very small space with extremely reflective walls – imagine your guitar amp in a metal cargo-shipping container.

Ventris Dual Reverb Features

  • Dual Processing

Two independent signal processors giving the pedal essential features like preset spillover and dual reverb effects.

  • Simultaneous Effects

Select the A + B toggle switch position and create dual reverb effects. Route any two reverbs in Parallel, Series, or Split-Stereo configurations.

  • 128 Preset Locations

8 presets available via the pedal's controls, and store up to 128 presets available via MIDI.

  • Stereo I/O

Create dramatic stereo reverb effects or set up an external effects loop.

  • Universal Bypass™

Select between high-quality signal relays for true bypass and transparent buffers for analog bypass.

  • Analog Dry Through

For most of the reverb engines and signal routing options the dry signal remains an analog signal and does not pass through the signal processor at any stage while the pedal in engaged.

  • Selectable footswitch

Choose from a variety of OPTION Footswitch assignments, like preset scrolling, A → B or A+B reverb toggling, reverb hold, runaway reverb, and tap tempo.

  • True Spillover™ & Trails

Change from one preset to another without abruptly cutting off the reverb tail of the original preset, decaying naturally.

  • Runaway Reverb

Loop a small portion of the reverb trail. Rather than maintaining a steady sustain, the loop is fed back into the reverb processor, creating a building self-oscillation effect.

  • External Expression Control

Connect a ¼” passive TRS expression pedal (Tip=Expression / Ring=Power / Sleeve=Ground) to the PEDAL IN jack and simultaneously control up to 3 parameters.
